Best products to clean the fairings

Postby Cra1g » 24 Jan 2010, 23:13

I just use soapy water on the plastics bcuz some people have said that some polishes can damage the plastic, What do other people use to get a shiny finish?

new respray every year. ha ha.
or actually - polish.
dont do it when the fairing is hot, from sunshie or after hot speeding.
best is when the plastics have standart garage temperatures. not too cold either.
and do NOT use t-cut.
is not a deal for plastic.

othet then that - warm soapy water is fine. just dont use handwassh paste in it.

most bike shops sell products designed for cleaning your bike, or have a look in halfords and places like that. Loads of products available

The best product I have used is Maguires paint cleaner, polish and wax. Superb product. it produces a intense shine that looks fluid.

As recomended by Uncle Bob and Otherhalf.

Not cheap but a kit will last you a couple of years if used sparingly.

heres a link.

i use muc-off or similar, then hose down with water and a sponge.. dry with a chamis leather, and then GT85 with an oily rag all over (Bar brakes, tyres, mirrors..) for a good and protective shine...

If wanting it to look really good... got some miracle shine polish by muc-off... does the trick very nicely. But that tends to come out in the summer only!
