Back pack

Postby trigg » 22 Jul 2010, 13:21

Hi All

I am after buying a decent sized back pack for use on my bike. I need to carry a Laptop and clothes for overnight stays. could anyone recomend anything? I thought if I spent around 50 or 60 quid I should get a decent one.

If I dont talk to you lot first, someone off here is bound to tell me about a better quality lower cost one.

So tell me about the best back pack I can get. all advise appreciated.

cheers

I've also got an Oxford bag, seems pretty decent and waterproof, not too dear either. Though after recent experiences with Oxford kit I'd steer clear of them!

Just bought a couple of Cargo tail packs for Z and I too, well made, complete with rain cover (separate shaped plastic bag basically) and expandable from 15-22 litres. Looks like it'd hold my laptop snuggly along with a reasonable amount of other stuff. Bonus to this is it's not nailed to you! Just that little bit more comfortable I reckon. It's got a carry handle and shoulder strap too. Basic Cargo tail pack - cost me £26.99 from www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk though they seem to have dropped it from their website.

To keep your laptop cosy this sort of thing looks good http://www.getgeared.co.uk/MOTO-DETAIL_ ... tegory=203

There are loads of choices though - Google search for 'motorcycle luggage' and you'll see!
I'm never lost. I know exactly where I am. It's just not where you are.

This one looks just the job mate, it's a backpack plus it has an extending handle so you can wheel it around.

For the odd occasional stay down at Colchester,

I purchased a Hein Gericke 70L holdall. It is 100% waterproof and the opening of the back folds over and has clips to seal it in place. I used some of those Green link lockable monster bungees to secure in place on the back of the bike.

Sits securely on the rear of the bike with no problems on the A1 & A14 and the A134 :)
